PhD in Applied Mathematics (MACSI, UL): Development of scenario trees for stochastic unit commitment tools
As part of the Sustainable Electrical Energy Systems Strategic Research Cluster (funded by Science Foundation Ireland), MACSI will host a PhD studentship in stochastic dynamics and optimisation methods. The student will work in collaboration with Cluster partners to develop and implement mathematical methods for scenario trees used in stochastic unit commitment tools. Candidates should have a high-quality academic record with a background in Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and must demonstrate familiarity with stochastic problems, optimisation methods, and their numerical implementations.
